This is across from the Louvre. I think it was the building for the French Ministry of Culture. You would think that, with an architecture degree, I would understand what they were trying to achieve with the metal grate over the building. The order of the past obscured through a chaotic post-modern web of metal? Modern pretension juxtaposed over pre-modern pretension? I don't know. It made me wonder if they were worried about break-ins.
